Texas A&M Scholarship Opportunities

Texas A&M University values the transformational experience that an Education Abroad opportunity provides. To encourage students to participate, the University awards approximately $1.5 million in study abroad scholarships each academic year!

TAMU UNIVERSITY WIDE SCHOLARSHIP
This single scholarship application facilitates multiple education abroad specific awards at Texas A&M, including the following:

  • Education Abroad Scholarship (based on academic & co-curricular achievement)  - range of $500 - $2,000
  • Global Opportunity Fund (based on financial need) - up to $10,000
  • Additional scholarships offered by individual colleges/departments across campus - amounts vary

Students must be enrolled full-time during their term abroad to be eligible for these scholarships (12 hours in fall or spring; 6 hours in summer). For more information, please review the Scholarship Handbook provided by the Scholarships & Financial Aid Office.

**Academic Year applicants should submit two scholarship applications--one for the Fall term, and one for the Spring term.
 
EDUCATION ABROAD STIPEND FOR ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS - $1,000
To be eligible for this stipend, students must be receiving one of the following four-year academic scholarships (President’s Endowed, Academic Achievement, President’s Achievement, Challenge, Lechner, McFadden, or Century). Semester programs must total at least 12 credit hours and summer programs must total 6 credit hours.

GLOBETROTTER GRANT - $2,000
This grant is designed for an adventurous Texas A&M student whose plans are not limited simply to study abroad.

COLLEGE OF VETERINARY MEDICINE & BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES TRAVEL AWARDS - $1,000 (may vary)
This fund is administered by the CVM International Programs Advisory Committee and is for CVM students only (BIMS, DVM, Graduate) to apply to education abroad programs. The application should be submitted at least two months before intended travel abroad. For more information, click the link above or contact Erika Walker at ewalker@cvm.tamu.edu.

External Scholarship and Grant Opportunities

 

GENERAL

 

DIVERSITY

  • The Diversity Abroad Scholarships are for economically disadvantaged students, African-American/Black, Asian, Hispanic/Latino, multiracial/ethnic or Indigenous/Native-American students, students with disabilities, or first-generation college undergraduate students.
  • The Rainbow Scholarship is for members of the LGBTQ+ community.
  • The Ashley Soule Conroy Foundation is for students with high financial need participating in programs no shorter than 14 weeks.
 

LANGUAGE SPECIFIC

 

ROTC

  • Project G.O. (Global Officers) is for ROTC students interested in studying a critical language. Project G.O. programs focus exclusively on Middle Eastern, Asian, Central Asian, and African languages and countries.
