Renew My Passport


If your most recent passport was issued when you were 15 years old or younger (valid for 5 years), you CANNOT renew your passport. Please see requirements for a New Adult Passport or New Minor Passport.
Additional documents may be required depending on your circumstances. Please see the State Department website.

Renew By Mail

You can renew your passport by mail if ALL of the following are true...

Your most recent passport:
  • Was issued when you were age 16 or older (must have 10-year validity)
  • Was issued within the last 15 years
  • Is submitted with your application
  • Is undamaged (other than normal “wear and tear”)
  • Was issued in your current name (or you can document your name change with an original or certified copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree, or court order)

Documents Needed

1. DS-82 Application

  • Find the online form filler here: DS-82 APPLICATION
  • Use BLACK ink only and print single-sided

2. Most Recent Passport

  • Must meet the requirements listed above

3. Name Change Documents (if applicable)

  • Marriage license, divorce decree, or court-ordered name change

4. Photo

  • One 2x2 passport photo meeting the U.S. Department of State requirements

5. Check or Money Order

  • Adult Passport Book: $130 
  • Adult Passport Card: $30
  • Optional Expedite Fee: $60
  • Optional Passport Return 1-2 Day Priority Express Shipping: $19.53
    • Regular 2-3 Day Priority Shipping is included in the application fee.
    • The Passport Card cannot be shipped Priority Express.

Application fees are regulated by the U.S. Department of State.
Priority Express Shipping fees are regulated by USPS.

Processing Times

On October 28, 2021 the U.S. State Department announced extreme delays in processing passports. 

You can apply for routine service and expect to receive a passport in 8-11 weeks (not including mailing).
You also have the option of paying an additional $60 for expedited service to receive your passport in 5-7 weeks (not including mailing).
