Affiliate provider programs offer access to a wide variety of program locations, courses, and program durations. Ideal for students looking for a cohort model with on site support services, but still allowing for an immersive experience. Available add-on features might include internship/volunteer work, excursions, and flexible housing options.

Explore program options and thoroughly review the sponsoring providers website for program specific information before applying. The top of the program brochure on the Education Abroad portal includes a link to the program’s homepage.
Affiliate provider programs require a dual application process.
- Apply with Education Abroad by finding your program on our portal. Email email@example.com if you cannot find your Affiliate Provider’s program listed.
- Apply directly with the provider.
Ideally, the Education Abroad application should be started first to facilitate the course pre-approval process. However, applications are often worked on simultaneously. Additionally:
- Students must meet both eligibility requirements from Education Abroad and the provider.
- Program specific questions should be sent to the sponsoring provider.
Additional information about the Education Abroad application
Most application items can be completed relatively quickly. However, the Pre-Approval Form for Transfer Credit can take 2 or more weeks to complete as several signatures are required. Additionally, only Education Abroad can mark your Pre-Approval Form for Transfer Credit as received in your application.
After your application is complete
Once the application is complete, it will be reviewed by an education abroad advisor.
- If approved, you will be notified and asked to confirm your participation.
- Complete new pre-departure application items.
Courses taken on Affiliate Provider programs will come back to Texas A&M as transfer credit. Transfer credit is processed as pass/fail and not calculated into Texas A&M GPA.
Part of the application process includes the Pre-Approval Form for Transfer Credit. Students indicate the course(s) they intend to take while abroad and work with academic advisors to obtain approval on how, if at all, the course(s) would transfer to Texas A&M and fit a student’s degree plan.

Previously Approved Courses

Note: The document is for reference only. It serves as a guide, not a guarantee that the same course will be approved the same way for each student. All courses still need to be approved by the appropriate parties as indicated on the Pre-Approval Form for Transfer Credit.
Students will enroll in a specific SABR placeholder course. The course will not generate any Texas A&M tuition or fees. Being enrolled in the placeholder course indicates you are still a Texas A&M student who is abroad for that given term. It also allows the student to still have access to their financial aid and scholarships.
Only students with a Confirmed status through Education Abroad are granted access to the SABR placeholder course.
Course registration must be open for the term the student is going abroad in order to register in the course.
Transcript Process for Returned Students
It can take 1-4 months after a program ends for a transcript to be sent to, received, and fully processed by Texas A&M.
Affiliate providers will mail program transcripts directly to Texas A&M Admissions.

In light of COVID-19, and possible mailing delays, an e-transcript may be accepted. In this case, the affiliate provider will email the transcript to firstname.lastname@example.org. Education Abroad will then submit transcripts to Texas A&M Admissions on the students behalf. Transcripts sent by the student will not be accepted.
